The Distributed Ontology Language (DOL): Use Cases, Syntax, and Extensibility

The Distributed Ontology Language (DOL) is currently being standardized within the OntoIOp (Ontology Integration and Interoperability) activity of ISO/TC 37/SC 3. It aims at providing a unified framework for (1) ontologies formalized in heterogeneous logics, (2) modular ontologies, (3) links between ontologies, and (4) annotation of ontologies. This paper presents the current state of DOL's standardization. It focuses on use cases where distributed ontologies enable interoperability and reusability. Investigation of the role of 10^{10}Li resonances in the halo structure of 11^{11}Li through the 11^{11}Li(p, d)10^{10}Li transfer reaction

International audienceThe first measurement of the one-neutron transfer reaction 11Li(p,d)10Li performed using the IRIS facility at TRIUMF with a 5.7AMeV11Li beam interacting with a solid H2 target is reported. The 10Li residue was populated strongly as a resonance peak with energy Er=0.62 ±0.04MeV having a total width $\Gamma$ = 0.33 ±0.07MeV. The angular distribution of this resonance is characterized by neutron occupying the 1p1/2orbital. A DWBA analysis yields a spectroscopic factor of 0.67 ±0.12for p1/2 removal strength from the ground state of 11Li to the region of the peak

Muráth Ferencné Péntek Judit életműve előtt, 75. születésnapja alkalmából tisztelgő kötet felelős kiadója lehetek. Tanárnőnek, Juditnak, ugyanis emberileg igazán sokat köszönhetek, egykori tanítványaként és későbbi munkatársaként egyaránt. Muráth Tanárnő szakmai pályafutásának nagyszerű és valóban sokoldalú eredményeit nálamnál hivatottabb munkatársak méltatják e kötet hasábjain közvetlenül – és talán még többen közvetve, akik saját kutatásaik során építkeznek, és folyamatosan meríteni tudnak abból, amit ez az életmű kínál. Tanárnő hihetetlenül következetes, alapos és szorgalmas építőmunkával, emellett az élet némelykor cudar nehézségeit is mindig áthidalni képes, élet- és emberszeretetet sugárzó, bámulatra méltó személyes derűvel érte el, hogy ilyen sokan és ilyen mélyen kötődnek hozzá. Ez rendkívül szép és igazán figyelemreméltó eredmény egy olyan világban, ahol oly sok minden vált mára felszínessé, kapkodásunk, állandósult időhiányunk, folyamatosan újra és újra definiálódó aktuális törekvéseink, mindennapi céljainknak rutinszerűen áldozatává váló ideáink közepette. E kötet szerzői mind irigyelhetik magukat, hogy Tanárnő általuk megismert aurájába lépve az emberhez valóban méltó tempóban van módjuk elmélkedni, szorgoskodni, vagy újabb, aprónak tűnő, de nélkülözhetetlen darabot hozzátenni a nagy közös tudáskincshez. Amit valóban én tehetek hozzá a köszöntőkhöz, azok persze leginkább a személyes emlékek. Nagyrészt Muráth Tanárnőnek köszönhetem, hogy a nyolcvanas évek vége felé közgazdász hallgatóként sikerült tisztességes szinten elsajátítanom a német nyelvet, és hogy szakfordító végzettségem nyomán elmondhatom, van nekem egy rendes, becsületes szakmám, melyből akkor is meg tudnék élni, gondoskodni tudnék a családomról, ha fenekestül változna is meg velem a világ. Nem lenne ez így, ha egykor nem figyel oda Tanárnő, és abban a félévben, amikor valamelyest elveszítettem a tanulás fonalát, nem emlékeztetett volna rá a jól megérdemelt elégséges jeggyel épp időben, hogy merre találhatnék vissza ahhoz. Utóbb tudható, ez sikerült, és az egyik legjobb eredményt tudtam végül felmutatni a záróvizsgák idejére a csoporttársaim között. Pár évvel később, kispénzű ifjú egyetemi oktatóként jó párszor nyílt alkalmam némi mellékest keresni tolmácskodással, sőt egy komplett szakkönyv fordításával is. Máig jól emlékszem azokra a tanórákra – a jogi kari épületrészben elhelyezkedő nyelvi laborban –, melyek során tanárnő mindent, de tényleg mindent megtett azért, hogy az akkor elérhető legjobb technikát bevonva sajátíthassuk el a szakfordítás igazán kihívásteli, de sikerélményekkel is kecsegtető fortélyait. Micsoda szép gesztusa a sorsnak, hogy ugyanazt a tantermet épp az idei évben tudtuk egy alapos felújítást követően átadni – de most már birtokba és nem csupán kölcsönbe – a közgazdász hallgatóinknak..

Standards-based Content Resources: A Prerequisite for Content Integration and Content Interoperability

Objective: to show how standards-based approaches for content standardization, content management, content related services and tools as well as the respective certification systems not only guarantee reliable content integration and content interoperability, but also are of particular benefit to people with special needs in eAccessibility/eInclusion. Method: document MoU/MG/05 N0221 ''Semantic Interoperability and the need for a coherent policy for a framework of distributed, possibly federated repositories for all kinds of content items on a world-wide scale''2, which was adopted in 2005, was a first step towards the formulation of global interoperability requirements for structured content. These requirements -based on advanced terminological principles- were taken up in EU-projects such as IN-SAFETY (INfrastructure and SAFETY) and OASIS (Open architecture for Accessible Services Integration and Standardization). Results: Content integration and content interoperability are key concepts in connection with the emergence of state-of-the-art distributed and federated databases/repositories of structured content. Given the fact that linguistic content items are increasingly combined with or embedded in non-linguistic content items (and vice versa), a systemic and generic approach to data modelling and content management has become the order of the day. Fulfilling the requirements of capability for multilinguality and multimodality, based on open standards makes software and database design fit for eAccessibility/eInclusion from the outset. It also makes structured content capable for global content integration and content interoperability, because it enhances its potential for being re-used and re-purposed in totally different eApplications. Such content as well as the methods, tools and services applied can be subject to new kinds of certification schemes which also should be based on standards. Conclusions: Content must be totally reliable in some applications, e.g. in eAccessibility/ eInclusion. New methods and tools for certification, verification and validation are largely facilitated by standards-based data-models and standardized content, which will have an impact on future ICT-related standards in general. Measurement of lifetimes in [superscript 23]Mg
